Montgomery, Ala. – The Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) has been awarded $2,903,400 through Alabama’s Growing Alabama program to support site work and public infrastructure improvements tied to industrial development opportunities in the Montgomery region. The funding was announced by Governor Kay Ivey as part of more than $20 million awarded statewide to advance economic development projects across Alabama.
The Growing Alabama program, administered through the Alabama Department of Commerce, uses private contributions and tax incentives to help communities prepare publicly owned sites for future business investment, job creation, and economic growth.
The airport’s funding will support critical infrastructure and site readiness efforts that position the airport and surrounding industrial assets for future economic development opportunities and expanded business recruitment efforts.
