Montgomery, Ala. –Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) is reinforcing its commitment to a seamless passenger experience through its ongoing message: “Smooth Travels Start Here.”
MGM continues to operate under normal conditions, with passengers experiencing efficient screening processes and an average TSA wait time of just three minutes.
As part of this effort, the airport is also recognizing the dedication of its frontline partners—including Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers and federal personnel, such as air traffic control tower staff—who play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient operations every day.
Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead for their travel by noting that airline ticket counters close 45 minutes prior to departure, and travelers should arrive at least 90 minutes before their scheduled flight to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.
To show appreciation, MGM is inviting the community to participate in a TSA and Federal Employee Appreciation Initiative by donating items for team members.
Donation Details
Community members are encouraged to drop off donations to the TSA Supervisor, located on the second level of the airport terminal.
Suggested items include:
- Pre-packaged snacks
- Bottled beverages
- Retail gift cards, in value of $25 or less
- Handwritten thank-you notes

- Arrive early for your flights (at least 90 minutes prior to departure)
- Come prepared for screening with a valid form of identification, such as a STAR ID-compliant driver’s license or another acceptable ID (e.g., U.S. passport or military ID)
