Montgomery Regional Airport to Welcome Governor Ivey and Mayor Reed
Press Conference to Be Held on Monday, January 11 at 10 a.m.

(Montgomery, AL) – Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) leaders will join Governor Kay Ivey and
Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed to discuss the tremendous impact of MGM and other Alabama
airports on the state’s economy.

Executive Airport Director Marshall J. Taggart, Jr., C.M., will highlight the total economic impact for
MGM, estimated in The Economic Impact of Alabama’s Six Major Commercial Service Airports on the
State’s Economy Report commissioned by the Aviation Council of Alabama. This includes:

• Economic Impact: $125 million
• Payroll Impact: $47 million
• Employment Impact: 1,500 jobs

The press conference will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the Airport near the
first-floor rotunda area.

Press Secretary, no later than 8 a.m. on Monday.
