Montgomery, AL – The River Region’s central air transportation hub, the Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM), is gearing up for its busiest Thanksgiving travel period yet, surpassing last year’s record. With approximately 2,230 passengers expected to fly out during Thanksgiving week, MGM is proud to support the growing travel demand with convenient and reliable service.
During the 11-day travel period from Friday, November 22, to Montgomery, December 2, MGM’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA) station reported a 2.5% increase in overall passenger traffic compared to last year’s Thanksgiving travel season, reflecting a nationwide trend of heightened holiday travel.
MGM has identified its busiest travel dates as:
Tuesday, November 26, 2024
Wednesday, November 27, 2024
Sunday, December 1, 2024
This year, both American Airlines and Delta Airlines increased their flight frequencies, with three daily services to Dallas Fort-Worth, Texas (DFW) and five services to Atlanta, Georgia (ATL).
As the holiday season ramps up, MGM encourages travelers flying on these peak days to plan ahead to ensure a smooth and stress-free journey. MGM recommends passengers arrive at least two hours before their scheduled departure time to allow ample time for parking, check-in, and security screenings.
To further enhance your travel experience:
- Check flight statuses and gate information before arriving at the airport.
- Pack carry-on items in compliance with TSA regulations.
- Take advantage of MGM’s convenient parking options.
MGM continues to prioritize passenger comfort and convenience, offering a stress-free alternative to larger airports. This holiday season, skip the drive and fly local with MGM!
