Montgomery, AL – The Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) demonstrated extraordinary dedication and professionalism in caring for Delta passengers following a night of severe storms that disrupted flight operations across the Southeast.
The challenges Delta Airlines flight operations faced included weather-related issues and crew members nearing federally mandated flight time limits. Despite these obstacles, MGM staff went above and beyond to make the unexpected stay as comfortable as possible for roughly 300 passengers. Once passengers were safely deplaned and inside the terminal, MGM staff worked diligently to provide comfort and care — distributing snacks, bottled water, and breakfast.
The airport’s prompt response stood out during an otherwise stressful and uncertain situation.
“It was the busiest evening for MGM in decades, with fourteen loaded aircraft on the ground due to multiple weather diversions,” said Wade A. Davis, C.M., Executive Director of Montgomery Regional Airport. “The MGM staff demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism in assisting Delta passengers once they were safely in the terminal. I am very proud of the MGM team’s efforts and for going far above and beyond to serve the traveling public.”
The airport’s quick and compassionate response stood out during an otherwise stressful and uncertain situation for travelers and airline staff alike. Montgomery Regional Airport remains committed to delivering outstanding customer service and supporting its airline partners, even during the most challenging operational moments.
