Montgomery, AL – Passenger traffic at Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) continued its upward trend in 2025, with 203,825 passenger enplanements, representing a 4.7% year-over-year increase compared to 2024.
The increase reflects sustained demand for convenient, local air service and growing confidence among travelers across the River Region who continue to choose MGM for both leisure and business travel. Airport leadership credits the growth to a combination of reliable airline service, community support, and strategic outreach efforts designed to keep travelers informed and engaged.
Passenger growth in 2025 was supported in part by MGM’s targeted marketing and community engagement initiatives, including the launch of its summer awareness campaign, Double-Tripping. The campaign encouraged travelers to “skip the drive” and fly local, reinforcing the value of convenience, time savings, and choosing Montgomery’s hometown airport.
Double-Tripping was executed through a multi-channel approach that included outdoor advertising, radio, digital and social media placements, on-site airport messaging, and community partnerships. Campaign messaging focused on educating travelers about available nonstop and connecting destinations from MGM, while highlighting benefits such as easy parking, shorter security lines, and personalized customer service.
“Double-Tripping wasn’t just a campaign — it was a reminder to our community that flying local is both practical and impactful,” said Brittney Jones-Dabney, Marketing and Communications Manager at Montgomery Regional Airport. “When passengers choose MGM, they save time, reduce stress, and help strengthen air service options for our region. We’re encouraged to see that message continue to resonate with more travelers year over year.”
The campaign also emphasized forward planning and future connectivity, positioning MGM as a reliable and accessible gateway while maintaining a strong connection to the community it serves.
Montgomery Regional Airport remains focused on delivering a positive passenger experience and will continue working closely with airline partners, stakeholders, and the community to support sustainable growth and expanded travel opportunities in the years ahead.
