Montgomery, Ala. – As families across the country prepare to celebrate Independence Day, Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) is anticipating a strong surge in travel throughout the July 4th weekend. With more locals choosing to skip the long drive and fly local, airport officials are encouraging passengers to plan ahead for a smooth, stress-free experience.

Over the holiday weekend, MGM is expecting to welcome more than 1,250 passengers across 28 flights:
- Friday, July 4: 7 flights serving approximately 330 passengers
- Saturday, July 5: 9 flights with an estimated 366 passengers
- Sunday, July 6: 12 flights scheduled to carry 563 passengers
Travel Tips for MGM Flyers:
- Arrive Early: Travelers should arrive at least 90 minutes before departure to allow time for check-in, security, and boarding.
- Plan Ahead: Check with your airline for real-time flight updates and allow for extra time when traveling with young children or in groups.
- Pack Smart: Review TSA guidelines in advance—fireworks, sparklers, and other explosive items are prohibited in both carry-on and checked baggage.
- On-Site Parking: Ample and affordable parking is available just steps away from the terminal.
