Montgomery, Ala. – Montgomery Regional Airport is excited to announce the return of the third annual MGM Runway 5K, taking place on Saturday, May 30, 2026. The unique community event gives participants the rare opportunity to run directly on the airport airfield while supporting a meaningful cause. Proceeds from this year’s race will once again benefit River Region United Way, continuing a partnership focused on giving back to the local community.
New this year, participants will experience an updated race route that offers even closer views of the airport’s airfield and runway environment, creating a one-of-a-kind race experience unlike anything else in the River Region.
“The MGM Runway 5K continues to grow each year, and we’re excited to welcome the community back for another unforgettable experience at the airport,” said Loyd Jenkins, Executive Director of Montgomery Regional Airport. “This event is not only about fitness and fun — it’s about bringing people together while supporting organizations that make a real difference throughout our region.”

The MGM Runway 5K welcomes runners, walkers, families, aviation enthusiasts, and community supporters of all ages and fitness levels. Participants can expect music, sponsor activations, giveaways, and exclusive access to portions of the airport not typically open to the public.
