Montgomery, Ala. – The Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) proudly announces the launch of new air service with United Express Airlines, operated by SkyWest Airlines, marking a significant milestone in expanding air travel options for the River Region. The inaugural flight to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) will provide travelers with enhanced connectivity and greater access to destinations across the United States and around the world.
This new route connects Montgomery passengers directly to one of United Airlines’ largest hubs, opening the door to seamless connections to key markets throughout Latin America, Mexico, and beyond. The addition of United service strengthens MGM’s position as a convenient and competitive gateway for both business and leisure travelers.
United Airlines will offer twice-daily service between Montgomery and Houston, with departures from MGM at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Fares for the new route start as low as $299, providing travelers with an affordable and efficient option to connect to United’s global network.
The launch of this service also marks a return to Houston for MGM, reestablishing a connection that previously existed when United Airlines operated under Continental Airlines, further reinforcing the airport’s long-standing role in connecting the region to major hub markets.

The inaugural celebration took place at MGM on April 7, featuring a ribbon cutting ceremony, community partners, and special guest appearances to commemorate the occasion.
