Montgomery, Al – As the summer travel season officially kicks off, Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) is preparing to welcome a significant increase in passenger traffic over Memorial Day weekend. MGM expects to serve approximately 2,707 travelers, marking a 17% increase compared to the 2,314 passengers recorded during the same period in 2024.
This uptick reflects growing confidence in air travel, the community’s strong support for local flying, and the convenience MGM continues to offer to central Alabama travelers.

With higher-than-average volumes expected nationwide, MGM encourages travelers to arrive at least 90 minutes prior to departure to ensure smooth check-ins and security screenings. Travelers are also reminded to plan ahead by reviewing TSA travel guidelines before packing.
