Montgomery, AL – Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) is spreading holiday cheer with its Community of Christmas Trees, a festive display of creativity and community spirit. Local schools and nonprofit organizations have transformed the terminal into a winter wonderland with beautifully decorated Christmas trees – and now, the public is invited to choose their favorite!
Voting is now open, giving family, friends, travelers, and community members a chance to show their support for the amazing work of these groups.

Alabama State University – TRIO Program:
The Federal TRIO Program (TRIO) are federal outreach and student services program designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to the post-baccalaureate program. TRIO also includes a training program for directors and staff of TRIO projects.
BEAR Exploration Center: Bear Exploration Center is a public elementary school in Montgomery. Bear is STEM and Magnet School certified. It also has amazing music and visual arts programs. Bear students in 2nd – 5th grades were given the task of designing the ornaments on this tree with a STEAM theme. So all of their designs relate to one of the areas of science, technology, engineering, art, or math.
Daughters of the American Revolution: The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotism across the United States. They are women who come from diverse backgrounds and hold a variety of interests. Their common bond is their lineal descent from Patriots of the American Revolution-any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove this lineage is eligible to join.
Montgomery Public Schools – Safety and Security Department: The Safety & Security Department safeguards the school district through prevention, intervention, and emergency response measures. Its team includes approximately 72 security officers, including the supervisory team. The technical staff maintains and optimizes intrusion, fire, and intercom systems and manages door locks with a skilled locksmith. A Safety Technician oversees safety protocols, while two emergency operators monitor campus activities via surveillance. An internal investigator collaborates with Human Resources to address complaints and liaises with law enforcement and external agencies.
The Oaks Classical Cottage School: The Oaks Classical Cottage School was founded with the motto: Academia, Civitas, Renovatio. The Oaks collaborates with families to develop a student’s Christian character by providing a rigorous classical education, cultivating virtue and renewal in all areas of life for the glory of God. Students of The Oaks come to school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and complete the balance of their schoolwork from home on Mondays and Fridays. The school provides an orderly, teacher-guided classroom with lessons focused on content mastery.
Family Sunshine Center – Montgomery Area Family Violence Program: The Family Sunshine Center Junior Board is a group of dynamic young leaders with a passion for and commitment to advancing the FSC’s mission to foster hope and healing for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking.
