Montgomery, Ala. – Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) will welcome aviation history to the River Region as the nationally recognized AirPower History Tour makes a special stop in Montgomery, bringing some of the most iconic World War II aircraft in existence to the community for a limited time.
From April 29 through May 3, visitors will have the rare opportunity to see, tour, and even fly aboard legendary aircraft including the B-29 Superfortress “FIFI” and the B-24 Liberator “Diamond Lil”—two of only a handful of their kind still flying today.
Hosted on the Montgomery Aviation FBO ramp, the AirPower History Tour will feature a full lineup of historic aircraft, including:
- B-29 Superfortress “FIFI”
- B-24 Liberator “Diamond Lil”
- P-51D Mustang “Gunfighter”
- T-6 Texan
- PT-13 Stearman
- RC-45J SNB “Big Oily Beast”
- L-26B Aero Commander “Ike’s Bird”
Guests can explore aircraft up close, participate in cockpit tours, and purchase ride experiences that bring history to life in a truly immersive way.
